After buying your new home here in www.cavitehousesforsale.com, the next thing to do is to inspect your new home before accepting it from the engineering dept  of the developer. Clueless on what to do? Read on!
What I can suggest you is that it would be best if you can hire a professional to check your new house for you. But I can give you some tips where you'll start.
1. CHECK THE ROOF OF YOUR HOUSE
- Check if the roof is properly installed and is aligned. This is one of the major areas to look at since if it is poorly installed - the roof can cause leaks and damages to the interior paint of your house, appliances and furnitures. Check if there's no past water damage stains because stains in the wall is a big sign that roof has leaks.

2. WALLS
- Make sure the there are no holes in the walls. How? - By checking the edges of the walls, you have to make sure that there are no water marks present as these are signs of leaks. Check for cracks in the wall. Surface cracks are not deep and these are often cause by unoccupied house. This should be repaired as it may cause as a passageway for leaks. Structural cracks on the otherhand are deep large cracks. If these are present, ask a professional as it may need the whole wall be replaced.

3. FLOORING
- Check for holes and cracks. Additionally, if it;s filled or vinyl then check if it is properly installed.

If the metal screen in your window gets small tears in it (especially for us, we have 8 fat cats), you don't have to throw the screen and replace it outright.  Simply glue the area back together using a mighty bond (bonding epoxy) use the clear transparent one though, you can buy it anywhere right? (Always read the directions before buying or using the glue.

When cleaning the screen, always make sure that you've done it at least once a year.  Just hose the dirt down and then scrub the remaining particles with a small piece of shag carpeting and that's it!

Sorry guys, it's been weeks before I am able to post this now, I've been too busy with clients and with my agents who are looking for homes that they can invest in, anyway as for my first post on home maintenance I hope you would be able to learn alot... I've been in the facilities industry for well, more than 5 years now and my work includes mostly of maintenance and housekeeping duties, I will be sharing to you some of my experience and things I've learned so you can well... save money instead of calling the repairmen! Here it goes...

Ok, for my first post it's an advise about safety, well... Safety always comes first! :)

Rainy Days are pretty much still here and you will notice some leaks are there (well we have lots in the office before especially after we just moved-in).  I was not able to use this idea before when I was in the office but I thought this advise will really be useful and well, safe(I was an Administrative & Facilities Head in a call center before I became a real estate broker).

If you have a binocular or a DSLR camera (better if you have good lens) to inspect your roof for leaks!  This way, you won't ever have to set foot on the roof, as an accidental fall from up there could be very life threatening.  This will also save time when the repairmen comes since you already know where the spot is (he won't have to check every space) and repairmen will in turn save you money as he will only bill you a minimal fee because you saved him half the time and cost to check the roof.

More household ideas to come, you just wait.  For the meantime, have a nice day! :)

Building Equity
  • Monthly mortgage payments are like buying your house on installment. Each month a little bit more of the house belongs to you and a little less belongs to the bank. This is a good thing, because, at the end of the mortgage, you own an asset free and clear. And along the way you build an ever-increasing amount of equity, or vested interest in the house. The icing on the cake comes when your property appreciates (gains value) over time. With renting, you pay for the privilege of continuing to reside in the dwelling, but you never gain an iota of equity no matter how long you stay.

Tax Advantages
  • There are several ways to approach the tax issue, but, as a homeowner, you enjoy clear advantages in return for ownership that a renter will never enjoy. When you own a home, you can deduct the amount of mortgage interest and property taxes you paid when you file your federal income taxes. Some states allow this as well. Check with your tax adviser to find out if your state is one. Interest deduction can add up to quite a bit of savings, especially in the early years when your mortgage payment is probably mostly interest and very little principal.

Stable Payments
  • If you choose a fixed-rate mortgage when you buy a house, the payment amount is locked in for the life of the loan. Your mortgage payment will never go up. You can look 30 years into the future and know that you will not have to pay more per month for the privilege of living in your house. Rent is different. Tenants are at the mercy of their landlords, and rising rent over time is a fact of life in most areas.

Pride of Ownership
  • This last advantage, though not as tangible, may be more important to some people than others. When you own something, you are fulfilling the American Dream. You have roots and are part of a community. It's something permanent, or at least as permanent as you're going to find in this life. If you crave that, all other advantages might pale in comparison.
