If the metal screen in your window gets small tears in it (especially for us, we have 8 fat cats), you don't have to throw the screen and replace it outright. Simply glue the area back together using a mighty bond (bonding epoxy) use the clear transparent one though, you can buy it anywhere right? (Always read the directions before buying or using the glue. When cleaning the screen, always make sure that you've done it at least once a year. Just hose the dirt down and then scrub the remaining particles with a small piece of shag carpeting and that's it! Sorry guys, it's been weeks before I am able to post this now, I've been too busy with clients and with my agents who are looking for homes that they can invest in, anyway as for my first post on home maintenance I hope you would be able to learn alot... I've been in the facilities industry for well, more than 5 years now and my work includes mostly of maintenance and housekeeping duties, I will be sharing to you some of my experience and things I've learned so you can well... save money instead of calling the repairmen! Here it goes... Ok, for my first post it's an advise about safety, well... Safety always comes first! :) Rainy Days are pretty much still here and you will notice some leaks are there (well we have lots in the office before especially after we just moved-in). I was not able to use this idea before when I was in the office but I thought this advise will really be useful and well, safe(I was an Administrative & Facilities Head in a call center before I became a real estate broker). If you have a binocular or a DSLR camera (better if you have good lens) to inspect your roof for leaks! This way, you won't ever have to set foot on the roof, as an accidental fall from up there could be very life threatening. This will also save time when the repairmen comes since you already know where the spot is (he won't have to check every space) and repairmen will in turn save you money as he will only bill you a minimal fee because you saved him half the time and cost to check the roof. More household ideas to come, you just wait. For the meantime, have a nice day! :) |
